Being a math teacher can be an exciting experience, albeit also a demanding one. The rewards however far out weight any disadvantages and so that is why it is such a great career that many can follow provided the adequate skills and training.
Becoming a Mathematics Teacher is surely not a simple duty as it requires several steps to becoming a math teacher. First, it is the patience to dealing with the students that may be at different levels of skill and have different backgrounds. Second it is the educational requirements which are a bachelor's degree in maths, along with an elaborate teacher's preparation program.
Those are essentially the requirements for becoming a math teacher, but you must prepare yourself further to become Math Teacher of excellence. Other steps involve also work as a student-teacher, so that you may learn with a professional teacher how it is to teach Maths and learn from an on-job formation how to handle the students.
Of course, there are other steps as well like getting a Teacher Certification. You cannot take this certification until you have both a bachelor's degree and some supervised teaching training. Once you have done both, you can take the Teacher Certification and be one step closer.
Alternatively to the supervised teaching training, you can take a Non-Traditional Education Path, that is to fill in vacant teacher positions in the schools of states with a shortage of teachers in a given field, in this case, maths. You may use that to acquire valuable training as well as credit to show for when taking the Teacher Certification.
Once all these steps are taken, you are now ready to be a Mathematics Teacher. You will find that there are many benefits in such a career and it will be very rewarding to teach the younger generation.
